Great to see bestselling author Daniel Pink at the Hoboken Literary Weekend and learn about "WHEN – The scientific secrets of perfect timing". 

Dan was sharing that hidden patterns of the day affect our mood and performance. We often think our cognitive abilities remain static throughout the day when they don’t. Daily fluctuations are more extreme than we might think.

When it comes to timing, there are tasks you better perform early in your day vs. mid-day vs. later in your day. Other factors such as your chronotype, e.g., are you a morning person (lark) or evening person (owl), play into that as well. 

Research shows that the BEST time to perform a task depends on the nature of the task

·     Earlier in your day –Analytical tasks 

·     Middle of your day – Administrative tasks 

·     Later in your day – Insight tasks
